We don’t expect you to know everything about our job, so we’ve put together some information here that will help you have a better understanding of what we do and why we do it.

Why is it important to have a professional create your website?

Many people don’t know much about the web, even in today’s technology driven society, so it is a common misconception that when getting a website done for your business the solution your college bound nephew can offer is plenty good enough. Often quick and cheap solutions can lead to issues or customer dissatisfaction due to a poorly optimized site or issues with accessibility compliance which is governed by Ontario law.

Realistically what we do is a trade much like carpentry. Sure there are many people who can cut and nail wood together but only a master carpenter can create a perfect dove-tail joint every time, so think of us as the masters of the web.

What is responsive design?

Next time you’re in your local big box electronics store take a look around you, what you’ll see is the latest tablets, smartphones, laptops, smart TVs, and widescreen monitors. What do all these things have in common? A screen and access to the internet. Designing and building a website to perform uniformly from one device to the next is what responsive design is all about, ensuring that your mother on her 10 year old Blackberry and your daughter on the latest iPhone can share as close to the same experience on your site as possible.

Responsive design is something we just do, it’s not an add on. We understand the importance of communicating with your customers wherever they are most comfortable and believe in providing our clients with a product that performs under today’s demands right out of the box.

What is UX and why is it important?

UX or user experience encompasses everything the user does and feels while interacting with your business online and the reasoning behind it. Developing a good user experience comes from channeling one’s inner three-year-old when “why?” was the only question you ever had. By repeatedly asking why a user does, doesn’t or may want to do something on a site one can determine the root cause of those behaviours and tailor the experience to perform duties such as promote sales, increase interaction or educate customers.

Many in the industry treat UX as something new and special but at FUSE, our thoughts on UX are simple, it’s nothing special it’s just doing the job right. We believe that in order to properly provide our customers with a solution that works UX best practices must be incorporated into everything we do. This means taking he time, doing the research, and asking the questions that get a project to where it needs to be in order to generate the desired results.
